Gas Leak Closes Copperopolis Road

Copperopolis, CA – The CHP is on the scene of a propane leak that has shut down a section of roadway in the Copperopolis area of Calaveras County. A report of the smell of gas in The Shores of Poker Flat area off O’Byrnes Ferry Road was reported around 11:10 a.m., closing a portion of Sunshine Road, near Poker Flat Road. The CHP reports that there is no estimated time for reopening the roadway. There are no evacuations of residents in the area. We’ll have an update as soon as new information comes into the newsroom.
