Manchester City has made history by winning their fourth consecutive Premier League title, a feat that has never been achieved before in the history of English football. This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to the skill and determination of the players, as well as the leadership of manager Pep Guardiola.
The team's dominance on the pitch was evident throughout the season, as they consistently outplayed their opponents and displayed a level of consistency that few teams can match. Their attacking prowess and defensive solidity were key factors in their success, as they scored an impressive number of goals while also keeping clean sheets at crucial moments.
The tension during the dying moments of the Premier League season at Etihad Stadium was simply because fans couldn’t wait to get the party started after a record fourth straight English top flight title for Pep Guardiola’s dominant team.
A 3-1 win on the day made certain of that and soon a sea of light blue shirts flooded the field. Flares and the smell of sulphur filled the air and delirious fans danced, posed for selfies and simply savored the moment – ignoring the futile pleas from the stadium announcer and messaging on the big screens instructing them to return to their seats.
City, who have now won six titles in seven years, stand alone as the only English team to have won four straight top-flight titles, eclipsing the achievements of the great Liverpool and Manchester United teams of the past.
“It is so hard to put into words what we’ve done today,” Foden told Sky Sports. “No team has ever done it [won four in a row]. We have put ourselves into the history books.
“You see what it means to the fans and to us players working all year for this moment. A special moment to share it with the fans.”
The inevitable question, after the trophy presentation table has been dismantled and the streamers cleared from the pitch, is how much more can they win? Arsenal's form -- winning 28 games and amassing 89 points -- has presented the illusion of a title race, but City have been so consistent that even in the crucial moments there has been remarkably little jeopardy.
While Arsenal were pushed to their limits, City's fourth title in a row was achieved without Kevin De Bruyne for five months and Haaland for two. Guardiola will strengthen his squad again over the summer and the challenge laid down to the rest of the Premier League will grow again.
After they lifted the title again, all of their players took part in the post-match celebrations, with some players winning it for a first time while others secured their sixth crown.
