Lauren Boeberts son faces five felony charges

Lauren Boebert, a controversial Republican congresswoman from Colorado, is facing yet another scandal as her 16-year-old son has been charged with five felony counts. The charges include theft, burglary, and possession of a weapon by a juvenile. This news has shocked many as Boebert has been an outspoken advocate for gun rights and conservative values.

The incident raises questions about parenting and accountability in the political sphere. How could a mother who champions law and order have a son who is allegedly involved in criminal activities? Some may argue that this reflects poorly on Boebert's ability to lead and set an example for her children.

Tyler Jay Boebert, 18, the son of United States Rep. Lauren Boebert, was arrested by Rifle police around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in connection to a string of vehicle trespass and property thefts in Rifle.

Tyler Boebert is formally charged with four felony counts of criminal possession of identification documents pertaining to multiple victims, as well as one felony count that accuses him of conspiracy to commit a felony. In addition to these felony charges, Tyler Boebert is also facing over 15 other charges that range from misdemeanors to petty offenses.

While officials have yet to release details, Colorado Bureau of Investigation records indicate Tyler Boebert was breaking into vehicles to steal credit cards and other identification documents, such as driver’s licenses and passports.

The arrest is the latest in a string of legal troubles in Boebert's family. In January, her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, was arrested in connection to two separate incidents. Earlier this month, Lauren Boebert was granted a temporary restraining order from Jayson Boebert after alleging he threatened to harm her and entered the family's home without permission.

Lauren Boebert also made headlines last year when she was removed from a Denver theater during a performance of "Beetlejuice." The theater said two patrons were removed for vaping, "causing a disturbance for the area with noise, singing, using their cell phone," and Boebert later apologized.

Lauren Boebert, a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump, used to live in a town near Rifle, a city of about 10,000, but switched districts in December to run in a more solidly Republican district after facing a tough reelection bid back home.

Earlier this month she obtained a temporary restraining order against her ex-husband after accusing him of threatening to harm her and entering the family's home without permission. It was the latest in a series of flare-ups between her and Jayson Boebert. In seeking the order, she cited the family turmoil as another reason for her move to Windsor in her new district.
