The Bafta Awards 2024 was a night filled with excitement, glamour, and unforgettable moments. From the red carpet to the stage, the event showcased the best of British talent in film and television. “Poor Things” was the other stand-out winner of the ceremony with five wins, including Emma Stone’s award for lead actress.
The ceremony also featured appearances by some cinematic legends including Tom Cruise (via video link) and Michael J. Fox, who presented the best film category. Prince William also stepped out to attend the ceremony on public duty following the hospitalization of Catherine, Princess of Wales and the cancer diagnosis of his father, King Charles.
After the BAFTAs, the Screen Actors Guild Awards (to air on Netflix on February 24) are the only other major awards event ahead of the Oscars on March 10.

The film Oppenheimer won the most awards of the night and Poor Things had a successful evening too - winning five awards.
American Fiction, The Zone of Interest, and The Holdovers were among the other winners.
One standout moment from the evening was when a young newcomer took home the award for Best Actor, beating out seasoned veterans with his raw and powerful performance. The audience erupted into applause as he tearfully accepted his trophy, a symbol of his hard work and dedication paying off.
