Cold snap continues across Egypt until February 7, marking end of ‘Tobi’ month: EMA
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has warned that the cold snap across Egypt will last until February 7, with cold weather during the day, growing very cold during the night and early morning. This marks the end of ‘Tobi’, the fifth month of the ancient Egyptian and Coptic calendars. It lies between January 9 and February 7 of the Gregorian calendar, and is known as the peak of cold weather in Egypt. Weather maps revealed that temperatures will continue to drop in all areas and in the new cities of Greater Cairo, going down to as low as seven degrees Celsius, while the temperatures in some areas will fall below zero, such as in St. Catherine and Nakhl in North Sinai.
