Man City beat Burnley 3-1in English Premier League

Manchester City secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Burnley in the English Premier League, showcasing their dominance and strength as title contenders. The match was held at the Etihad Stadium, where City's relentless attacking prowess overwhelmed their opponents.

From the onset, Manchester City displayed their intent to dominate the game. Their fluid passing and intricate movement left Burnley struggling to keep up with their pace. It was no surprise when Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring in the first half, capitalizing on a defensive error from Burnley.

Kompany became a City legend after 11 years at the Etihad Stadium, captaining them to their first ever English Premier League title back in 2012. But the big talking point for this game is the expected comeback of a current Sky Blue hero.

Striker Erling Haaland looks set to be involved against the Clarets on Wednesday after finally recovering from a foot injury. The prolific Norwegian is still the league's joint top scorer with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, despite having been sidelined for two months.

Matheus Nunes broke down the right flank and his cross from the byline provided a simple headed chance for Álvarez to score and the Argentine doubled his tally six minutes later.

De Bruyne played in the striker with a clever low pass from a free kick to catch the visitors unaware and Álvarez produced a cool finish.

It took City 25 seconds in the second half to increase the lead to 3-0.

De Bruyne picked out Phil Foden on the right wing and his pass to Rodri on the edge of the box resulted in the Spaniard drilling the ball low into the bottom corner.

De Bruyne was making his first start in over five months and Erling Haaland came off the bench, with their returns potentially threatening Alvarez's place in future starting line-ups. But the Argentine showed he is worth keeping around as City continue to chase Liverpool in the title race.

Rodri put City further at ease early at the start of the second half but Burnley got a consolation goal, as Ameen Al Dakhil pounced on a blunder from Ederson in added time.
