Brian Butch’s jersey to be retired at Appleton West home basketball game against Kaukauna

Photo courtesy Appleton West APPLETON — Brian Butch, who led the Appleton West High School boys basketball team to a WIAA state championship and went on to a stellar career with the Wisconsin Badgers will have his Jersey retired Friday by his high school altma mater. Butch is expected to attend the ceremony Feb. 2, 2024 at Emanual Gym between the JV and varsity games. A two-time Wisconsin State Player of the Year by the Associated Press, Butch led Appleton West High School to a 23–3 record and the Division 1 State Championship game in 2003. Butch went on to play for the UW-Badgers basketball team, earning multiple honors during his collegiate career. Tip-off for the varsit
