Iowa vs Ohio State: A Clash of Titans

The rivalry between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Ohio State Buckeyes is one that has captivated college football fans for decades. After scoring 45 points to go with three rebounds and seven assists in the 100-92 overtime loss, Clark was running off of the court when a court-storming fan collided with her. She spun and fell to the ground as her concerned teammates and coaching staff rushed over to help her.

"[It was] kind of scary and could've caused a pretty serious injury to me and knocked the wind out of me, but luckily my teammates kind of picked me up and got me off the court," Clark said in a post-game press conference.

Iowa's Hannah Stuelke fouled out with 3:25 left. She scored 10 points. All those whistles caught up with the Hawkeyes.

Iowa's loss was its first of the Big Ten Conference season (7-1). The Hawkeyes' only other loss was against Kansas State on Nov. 16 in Iowa City.

A pair of free throws by Thierry on Ohio State’s next possession cut the lead back down to one with 2:23 to play. A pair of free throws by Clark extended Iowa’s lead back to three with 1:21 to play. McMahon cut the lead back to one on Ohio State’s next possession.

Taylor put the Buckeyes back in front, 83-82, with 16 seconds left to play. Hannah Stuelke had a chance to give Iowa the lead after getting fouled on the Hawkeyes’ subsequent possession, but she made only one of two free throws. A missed three by Sheldon in the game’s final seconds sent the contest to overtime.

Razor thin margins continued into the final minute, as Kayla Padilla nailed her first three of the game and Sherrod split a subsequent pair of free throws, giving USC a chance with the ball down two. But another key Colorado defensive stand forced Forbes into a missed layup, and the Buffs held on late for a massive victory.
