What time does F1 British Grand Prix start? Qualifying results, and how to follow Silverstone race

Lewis Hamilton will race for the first time at Silverstone as a Ferrari driver at the British Grand Prix this weekend.

The Formula 1 icon faces a battle to continue his incredible streak on English soil and clinch a record-extending 10th time in his home race.

Last year, Hamilton won at Silverstone to claim his first win in over 900 days, leaving him in floods of tears.

He will be eyeing glory again this time around, along with fellow Brits Lando Norris, George Russell and Oliver Bearman.

Norris heads into this off the back of a win in Austria, while Max Verstappen’s hopes of winning another Drivers’ title look to be evaporating after a DNF at the Red Bull Ring.

When is the British Grand Prix?

The 2025 British Grand Prix will take place between Friday, July 4 and Sunday, July 6.

It is, of course, being held at the iconic Silverstone Circuit.

Practice 1 and Practice 2 are scheduled to get going on Friday, July 4 at 12:30am and 4pm, respectively.

Practice 3 and qualifying are on Saturday, July 5 at 11:30am and 3pm.

The race will then be held on Sunday, July 6 at 3pm.

British Grand Prix: What has been said?

If Max Verstappen does leave Red Bull, he’ll be departing one of Formula 1’s all-time great teams, according to Lewis Hamilton.

Speaking to the media, including talkSPORT.com, at the British Grand Prix, he revealed: “Many, many years ago I was asked something about the company and I was just so die-hard Mercedes.

“I remember saying something about Red Bull just being a drinks company, and I always regretted it.

“I was just saying where Mercedes were at the time which was really great, I was trying to gee up my team.

“But the truth is Red Bull have been an incredible team, exceptional, they dominated for years.”

Hamilton was praising Red Bull amid strong rumours that reigning four-time world champion Max Verstappen could depart for Mercedes next season.

Given that the Silver Arrows are clearly in pole position to land the Dutchman, Hamilton was asked if he would recommend the team where he raced for 12 years to his rival.

“Of course,” he answered without hesitation.

“What would I say if anyone was going to ask me about Mercedes… is they’re an amazing team also with the passion, the greatness, a great factory, so of course I would say yes.”

Giving his final comment on the biggest rumour in F1, he finished: “I’m interested to see what happens.”
