‘Tron’ and ‘Caddyshack’ Star Cindy Morgan Dies at 69

Cindy Morgan, the beloved actress known for her roles in the iconic films "Tron" and "Caddyshack," has passed away at the age of 69. Her death has left a void in the hearts of fans around the world who grew up watching her on screen.

Morgan's portrayal of Lora/Yori in the groundbreaking science fiction film "Tron" captured audiences' imaginations and solidified her status as a talented actress. Her performance showcased both her beauty and acting prowess, leaving an indelible mark on cinema history. Similarly, her role as Lacey Underall in the comedy classic "Caddyshack" showcased her comedic timing and charm.

Morgan gained notoriety for her performance as blonde bombshell Lacey in the 1980 sports comedy “Caddyshack,” starring Bill Murray, Chevy Chase and Rodney Dangerfield.

“‘Caddyshack’ was my first film and I’ll say that the end product was so completely different, it was originally about the caddies,” Morgan said in a 2012 interview. “So at first, I had nothing to lose to audition. It was fun. All I did was focus on making the person sweat. Look ’em in the eye, do that thing many women know how to do.”

Morgan will likely best be remembered for playing Lacey Underall in the famous 1980 comedy opposite Chevy Chase, Bill Murray and Rodney Dangerfield — portraying the country club owner's niece who captures the attention of pretty much every male character.

She had quite a few scenes in there ... and was memorable as the key temptress in the flick. There's one notable scene she shared with Chase, where she tried seducing him at a party.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office confirms Morgan died of natural causes.

Morgan was well-known for her roles in “Caddyshack” and “Tron,” as well as many appearances on television shows like “CHiPS,” “The Fall Guy,” and “The Love Boat.”

Before starring in classic films, she graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in communications. From there, she went on to do weather for WIFR. She returned to Rockford in 2007 to headline Rockford Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.

Morgan appeared on multiple television series throughout the ’80s and early ’90s, including “Bring ‘Em Back Alive,” “Hawaiian Heat,” “Masquerade,” “The Fall Guy,” “Tough Cookies,” “Beverly Hills Buntz,” “Falcon Crest,” “Matlock,” “Mancuso, FBI,” “Hunter” and “The Larry Sanders Show.” She also worked on TV movies such as “The Midnight’ Hour” (1985), “Solomon’s Universe” (1985), “Dead Weekend” (1995), “Amanda & the Alien” (1995) and “Out There” (1995).

Along with “Caddyshack” and “Tron,” Morgan’s film credits include 1979’s “Up Yours,” 1995’s “Galaxis” and 2006’s “Open Mic’rs.” Her most recent role was voicing Mason’s Mother in the 2022 indie film “Face of the Trinity.”
