Egypt’s airports saw tremendous growth in air traffic rates during 2023, receiving approximately 47 million passengers – an increase of 28 percent compared to 2022 – according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmy referred to the efforts made by his ministry to increase operating rates and the number of passengers to and from Egyptian airports. This falls in line with the state’s vision to stimulate air and tourist traffic arriving to and from Egypt.
