Clippers vs. Nuggets 108-111

Indiana Pacers center Daniel Theis has agreed on a contract buyout, clearing the way for him to sign a free agent deal with the LA Clippers once he clears waivers, sources told ESPN on Wednesday.

Theis is expected to clear waivers Friday and can join a Clippers team that is reeling with six straight losses since the acquisition of James Harden.

Theis will address the Clippers' need for frontcourt size as they await the return of backup center Mason Plumlee from a sprained MCL in his right knee. Theis had $7.8 million left on his $9.1 million contract with the Pacers, and will sign a prorated veteran minimum of $2.1 million, sources said.

George said the officials issued him the tech in the second quarter because he was arguing about a non-call on his breakaway dunk attempt.

That was something else George, who led all scorers with 35 points, wanted to discuss postgame. He believed he should've gone to the stripe more than five times.

Lue met with seven players to discuss their roles recently, according to Haynes. Third-year guard Bones Hyland was one of them. He could reportedly be left out of the rotation for five to six games as Lue explores other lineups.

It appears Hyland will take a temporary backseat after he seemed poised for a larger role this season. It's the Clippers' theme this season, as even Theis previously expressed frustration with his lack of playing time with the Pacers. Hopefully, Los Angeles will manage to keep every member of the roster happy.

Yet the team is preaching for us to wait it out and good things will happen. “[Westbrook and Harden] opened the game for everyone. We just gotta be ready to shoot and make a quick decision on what to do with the ball," Leonard said. "Trying to figure out the gaps in opportunities you’re gonna get when [Harden] does have the ball.”

It's too early in the season to panic. Plenty of time for chemistry to mesh and move out of this “preseason.” But someone needs to show James Harden an episode of The Real World so he can stop being polite and start being real. Because other than the play of Paul George there hasn’t been a lot to like lately.

The Nuggets needed an all-world performance from Nikola Jokić, who finished with 32 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists to come out with the win.
