John Calderonello doesn’t reflect much on the years he served in Vietnam. The fact he earned a Purple Heart for being wounded in action and Bronze Star for heroic service in a combat zone didn’t come up in this interview. He mentioned it later, almost as an afterthought. The 79-year-old Army veteran, who lives in Bowling Green, served in Vietnam from 1968-70 and was present for the Tet Offensive.
