The iconic and often-crashed-into covered bridge in downtown Long Grove is also known as the Robert Parker Coffin Bridge. The Joliet Bridge and Iron Company originally built the covered bridge in 1906. It’s named for the late Robert Parker Coffin, an architect who designed the cover of the bridge in 1972. In 2018, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
