Dr. Jennifer Rycenga of San Jose University, a popular speaker, will be in Willits on Friday, Aug. 12. Professor Rycenga has lectured across the country speaking on a variety of subjects. She will be presenting “Olympian Influence: The Greek Deities in Art.” Rycenga is a professor of Comparative Religious Studies in the Humanities Department at San José State University. She is finishing a comprehensive cultural biography of white Abolitionist educator Prudence Crandall (1803-1890). Her co-edited book (with Linda Barufaldi), “The Mary Daly Reader,” was published by New York University Press in 2017, featuring the writings of this famed radical Lesbian-Feminist philosopher.
