But the former center’s latest venture is seeing him add acting to his repertoire of skills.

Pictures shared by TMZ show the 53-year-old in action on the set of “Gravesend” on Tuesday.

The 15-time All-Star was seen looking more like a crime boss for the mob drama set in the 1980s of Brooklyn, New York.

O’Neal was decked out with a huge gold chain, a black track suit and some specs.

He will be playing a character called “Mufasa” in the Amazon Prime series, and will have a recurring role in the upcoming season rather than a one-off cameo.

During his time on set, he was seen chatting away with “Miguel”, who is played by businessman and producer, Jas Mathur.

It’s not clear exactly what was said during their scene, but it appeared to be a deep and serious conversation.

Fans will have to wait until season three releases to find out, with the show having debuted in 2020.

Shaq’s appearance on the show is no coincidence, however.

Last year, the 7ft 1″ man-mountain revealed the show was actually one of his favourites.

And it turns out he was called by the director and star of the show, William DeMeo, about an appearance.

He told News12: “Gravesend’ is my favorite show.

“When I contacted Will just to tell him I was a fan, he asked me if I wanted to be in season 3.

“So, season 3 is going to be very, very exciting.”

DeMeo is also really looking forward to the NBA icon’s appearance in the show.

He said: “I really love the new element that the Shaquille O’Neal character, Mufasa.

“I think people will really love how we created that.”

The third season is expected to be released later this year.

Shaq’s hit sports panel show, Inside the NBA, is making a stunning move to ESPN after years on TNT Sport.

Fortunately, the cast are all sticking together for the next season.

Inside the NBA's future?

Inside the NBA's run on TNT Sports is in major doubt due to the NBA's broadcasting deals.

The Emmy-winning sports show is a fan favorite thanks to the likes of Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley.

But TNT’s broadcast deal with the NBA is up after next season and NBC looks set to take those rights in a $2.6bn deal.

If TNT loses its NBA package, it raises serious questions over the popular Inside the NBA.

One solution could be to recreate the show on another network, which snaps up the NBA rights.
