When a tournament runs for two months, it is just difficult to pick a team of the tournament; the in form players go out of form, and vice versa. But still, there are a few individuals, who find ways to stay consistent. IPL 2025 was no different. GT saw Sai Sudharsan & Prasidh Krishna, RCB had Virat Kohli and Phil Salt.. Even CSK, who finished last in the points table, had a few decent performers.
So, InsideSport takes a look at the best XI of the IPL 2025.
NO Surprises for Opening Slot, No. 3
Sai Sudharsan: The GT opener finished with the orange cap and went on to score 759 runs in 15 innings, at an average of 54 and a strike-rate of 156. That included six fifties and a century as well. Interestingly, he also finished as the highest four-hitter.
Virat Kohli: Can’t leave this player out of any XI at all. The legend scored 657 runs at an average of 59. What was important is, he went on to score eight half-centuries, all coming in a winning cause.
Suryakumar Yadav: Surya finished as the second-highest run-getter in the entire tournament. He went on to score 16 25+ scores in the season, which a a record in itself. Eventually he finished with 717 runs at an average of 65.
Shreyas Iyer Captain & No. 4 of Team
Shreyas Iyer: PBKS was mighty successful due to this man. Apart from scoring 604 runs, he was the captain of the team, that made final of the tournament after 11 years. He is the deserved skipper of this team too.
Jos Buttler: He left the season after the group stages, but had he been there, perhaps GT would have crossed the playoffs hurdle. But nonetheless, he was an excellent performer for the team and scored 538 runs in 14 matches.
Hardik Pandya: Slipped under the radar just a bit, but emerged once again as an ace all-rounder. He went on to score 224 runs and even picked up 14 wickets. What more do you want from a player.
Krunal Pandya: The senior Pandya wasn’t far behind from his brother. 109 runs, including and innings of 73. To go with that he also had 17 wickets to his name.
Who Are the Bowlers?
Noor Ahmad: The second spinner in the side would be CSK’s Noor Ahmad. He ended with 24 wickets in 14 outings. Some wicket-taking skills this chinaman bowler has.
Prasidh Krishna: The purple-cap winner of the2025 season; he is a must-have. 25 wickets in 15 matches is an excellent effort for him, and he will share the ball with the legends.
Jasprit Bumrah: Time for another Indian great. 18 wickets in 12 matches, is what Bumrah managed. Great bowling effort again, but couldn’t take his side to the final.
Josh Hazlewood: The IPL winner is the no. 11 for this side. Missed a few games for his team, yet he finished with 22 scalps.
