POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.

CAT IN ROAD: Caller in the 600 block of Sidnie Street reported at 8:59 a.m. May 23 that a dead cat was in the road. The Streets Department was advised.

CITZEN ASSIST: An officer contacted an elderly woman needing assistance in the 1200 block of South State Street at 7:01 p.m. May 23 and gave her a ride home.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE: Caller in the 700 block of Waugh Lane reported at 11:03 p.m. May 24 that a suspicious vehicle pulled into a driveway. An officer responded, contacted the person and reported that they left upon request.

TRAFFIC STOP: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of Helen Avenue at 10:48 p.m. May 24 and arrested Ivan Aguilar, 19, of Ukiah, on suspicion of conspiracy, carrying a loaded handgun he was not the registered owner of and possession of marijuana for sale. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail. A 17-year-old in the vehicle was arrested on similar charges and booked into Juvenile Hall.

WOMAN TRYING TO JUMP: Caller on the Perkins Street bridge over Highway 101 reported at 10:06 a.m. May 26 that a woman was trying to jump off the overpass. An officer responded and reported that the woman was left in the car of mental health staff.

PURSE STOLEN: Caller in the 500 block of East Perkins Street reported at 4:50 p.m. May 26 that their purse had been stolen from their cart. An officer responded and the incident was documented.

KID THROWING WATER BOTTLES: Caller in the 500 block of Plum Drive reported at 8:32 p.m. May 26 that a juvenile was “throwing water bottles at the windows of houses in the area.” An officer responded and reported that the juvenile  was “returned to their parent and both parties counseled.”

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the UPD regarding calls handled by the Fort Bragg Police Department.

DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of East Oak Street at 8:02 p.m. May 23 and arrested Eric Franzmann, no age or city of residence given, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was booked, cited and released and the vehicle stored.

STOLEN TRUCKS: Caller in the 500 block of McPherson Street reported at 11:35 a.m. May 24 that two trucks had been stolen. An officer took a report.

THROWING FOOD: Caller in the 700 block of South Main Street reported at 5:39 p.m. May 25 that someone was throwing food and causing a disturbance. An officer responded and advised the person to not trespass at the restaurant. At 6:10 p.m., a caller in the same block reported that someone was “throwing stuff at windows.” The officer then arrested a 62-year-old Fort Bragg man for trespassing and vandalism.

Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper. The Daily Journal makes no exceptions.
