Former Cars Guitarist Shares He ‘Used to Play the Same Guitar as Kid in Kars4Kids Commercial’ ...Saudi Arabia

News by : (Parade) -

Elliot Easton, the former lead guitarist of the Cars who played on such classic hits as “Just What I Needed,” “My Best Friend’s Girl,” “Drive” and more, took note of the omnipresent ad with a post on Facebook on Thursday, May 29.

“Hey, I used to play the same guitar as the kid in the Kars4Kids commercial!” he noted along with a snap from the commercial alongside two vintage photos of him playing a similarly shaped guitar. A live clip on YouTube of Easton performing “Night Spots” with the Cars shows him playing a similar guitar, which appears to be a Dean ML Series model.

“I smell legal action!! Kars/Cars? Same guitar? That’s more than a coincidence,” wrote one.

“Now if only you could replace that cars4kidz jingle! Please make that song stop in my mind!! ,” another person commented.
