Congratulations to Anaheim Public Library for recently winning three awards from the American Library Association PR Xchange Award Competition held annually under the direction of CORE, a division of the American Library Association.
The Anaheim Public Library won in the “Born Digital” submission for its “Feel the Rhythm of Reading” in the Reading Programs category in the budget category of $10 million-$15 million.
Also, APL’s print submission, entitled, “Zombie’s Winter Reading Fest!” received an award in the Reading Programs category in the same budget level category. The third award, also in the print submission, entitled “Literacy on the Go! Library Card” won in the materials promoting collections, services and resources category in the same budget category.
This year’s competition attracted more than 290 entries in print and electronic formats from more than 100 institutions that included public, academic, school, state as well as special libraries. Each entry was evaluated for quality of content, format, design, creativity and originality by a select panel of 18 virtual judges comprised of marketing professionals, graphic designers, librarians and virtual artists.
The Anaheim Public Library is honored to be the recipient of three prestigious National Awards, its director said.
Canyon Hills church hosts blood drive
A blood drive sponsored by the Deacons at Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church is scheduled from 1 to 7 p.m. June 16 in the church Fellowship Hall. And the community is encouraged to participate.
This blood drive, which is held in conjunction with the American Red Cross, is a great way to help replenish blood supplies that may save the lives of neighbors, friends and others in the community. The need for blood is constant; someone nationwide needs a unit of blood every two to three seconds, so blood donations are critical.
The American Red Cross is offering a $15 emailed gift card and a chance to win a $7,000 prize for all blood donors throughout the month of June. Visit rcblood.org/Count for details.
Those wishing to participate in this blood drive should register at RedCrossBlood.org and enter Sponsor Code: CanyonHills.
