TARGET has made a massive shelf change at 1,800 of its locations, and shoppers will see new products as a result from just $6.99.
The major US retailer is putting its most environmental foot forward with brand new items designed to give more people access to plastic-free products.
TARGET has made a massive shelf change at 1,800 of its locations, and shoppers will see new products as a result from just $6.99AFPTarget has teamed up with Blueland, an eco-friendly cleaning product company.
Every Blueland product comes in compostable packaging and use a tablet or powder format designed to be used or mixed with water.
Retail Dive reports that Blueland has started selling nine of its products in more than 1,800 Target locations and online.
The items that are now available include dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, toilet bowl cleaning tablets and a hand soap starter set.
They are priced between $6.99 and $13.99, and Target shoppers can enjoy exclusive scents, too.
The environmental space in regards to retail isn’t something that has been hugely explored.
Therefore, mixing in recognizable elements like store exclusives could be a way to attract more customers.
It could prove an effective way to take away the daunting nature of environmentally friendly products some American consumers might have.
If they are treated as any other product on the shelf, however, it could simultaneously risk watering down the message at the core of Blueland.
Sarah Paiji Yoo, CEO and co-founder of Blueland, has praised the move as a step forward in environmental product accessibility.
She said: “Expanding into large retailers like Target allows us to meet consumers where they are, making it even easier for them to switch to products that are better for their families and the planet.
“This decision underscores our commitment to making safe, high-quality cleaning products available for anyone who wants them.”
Blueland has previously partnered with other major retailers such as Whole Foods, Costco, Kroger, HEB and Meijer.
NEW IN BLUELAND
Blueland is doing much more than simply its partnership with brick-and-mortar retailers, however.
The company is also innovating, and has introduced new products in recent years.
In 2022, the brand launched a line of powder-to-gel refillable body wash.

The company launched its products online and in Target stores in 2021, but cut ties with the store in 2024.
