AN EXCITED Prince Louis gave three key signs he has adopted a new role in the royal family as he enjoyed today’s VE Day celebrations.
Despite being fourth in line to the throne, Louis, 7, still managed to grab centre stage as he performed sweet and joyful gestures throughout the afternoon.

She told The Sun: “Years ago it was William and Kate nudging, encouraging and coaching their young children to look royal in public.
“Then it was Charlotte taking over as group prefect, quietly checking and chiding her two brothers to ensure they were adopting the right poses at the right time and helping Kate deal with Louis’s bouts of playfulness.
“Today, though, it looked as though Louis has now, amazingly and unexpectedly, taken on the ‘family prefect’ role himself, with three key displays that suggest he’s executing something of a power-grab.”

Sitting next to the Prince of Wales and his siblings Charlotte, 10, and George, 11, Louis watched on as more than 1,000 troops made their way along The Mall.
As William spoke to a veteran sitting to his left, Louis looked up at his dad before showing concern over something he had spotted, Judi says.
Then, in a “very emphatic and parental gesture”, Louis stretched his arm out to begin cleaning off some water on the shoulder of William’s jacket.
Judi added: “[This] suggests firstly that he’d been keeping an eye on William’s appearance and secondly that he felt he needed to be in charge of dealing with the problem.”
Further adding to his new “prefect” role, Louis also performed a “surprising” act when the family were walking back into the palace, following the parade.
The royals were making their way indoors ahead of the stunning flypast when Louis “broke rank” with the rest of his siblings and parents.
Storming forward, the young royal began chatting to his aunt Princess Anne, who had been walking ahead.
Judi explained: “His second moment came when the family walked into the Palace.
“While William, Kate, George and Charlotte all hung around behind Charles and Princess Anne, Louis suddenly broke rank and strode forward, engaging a rather surprised-looking Anne in conversation.”

But trumping his two other actions was his third move, which Judi described as “a small revolution”.
As the royals walked out onto the balcony to watch the 23 aircraft roar overhead in the flypast, Louis began to play invisible drums to the marching music.
On top of that, as the royals stood tall, following the flypast, Louis then corrected older brother George’s pose.
Reflecting how Princess Anne also corrected her elder brother King Charles, when he mistakenly waved his family to go in before the national anthem played, Louis quickly noticed that George still had his hands clasped together when they should have been at his side.
He then “firmly warned” George to quickly drop his hands to his side, in a telling-off duty previously reserved for Princess Charlotte.
Judi said: “As the royals stood on the balcony, Louis played invisible drums to the marching music, standing with George and Charlotte.
“When the fly-past finished, it was Anne who first took the role of prefect as she spotted the fact that her brother the King was waving to go in before the anthem had been played.

“But in the Wales’s group it was Louis instantly standing to attention before turning to spot the fact that George still had his hands clasped and quickly and firmly warning him to drop them to his sides.
“It used to be Charlotte checking George and telling him off when he got his pose wrong but now it seems its his younger brother who has taken over the role.”
In the past, Charlotte had once playfully told Prince Louis to “stop” as he enthusiastically danced along to music at Trooping the Colour in 2024.
She had also once calmed the young prince down after he began joyfully waving at crowds during the same event two years before.
Judi has called Louis’ new behaviour a “complete and very unexpected royal pecking-order turn-around”, as he takes on a more assertive position within the family.
