Sprint freestyle and backstroke specialist Sadie Suppiger has committed to swim for Vanderbilt University beginning in the fall of 2025. Suppiger currently trains with the Crow Canyon Sharks club team in California and attends Acalanes High School.

Many of Suppiger’s top yard times were recorded in 2022 and 2023. However, she recently posted several season-best performances at the 2024 Speedo Winter Junior Championships – West (SCY) in December, where she qualified for the 2025 Futures Championship in Sacramento in the 50 free (23.87), 100 back (56.22), 200 back (2:00.07), and the 100 free with her 51.55 leadoff split in the 400 free relay.
At the 2023 Speedo Sectionals (SCY) in Carlsbad, Suppiger reached the finals in five events, placing 8th in the 200 back (2:00.56), 9th in the 100 back (55.93), 18th in the 100 free (51.76), 22nd in the 200 free (1:50.70), and 30th in the 50 free (24.20). Her time in the 100 back remains a lifetime best.
She also contributed to strong relay finishes, helping the 400 free relay take 2nd with a 51.70 split and the 400 medley relay place 2nd with a freestyle split of 51.34. She led off the 800 free relay, which finished 3rd. Her time of 1:50.67 remains her fastest 200 free to date.
In December 2022, she posted her best 50 free time at the Speedo Winter Junior Championships – West (SCY). She recorded a 23.82 leadoff split on the 200 free relay, which placed 22nd overall (1:34.21).
Individually, she swam the 50 free (23.93), 200 free (1:52.01), 100 back (56.45), and 200 back (1:59.37). She also contributed to other relays, helping the 200 medley relay place 5th (23.26 free split), the 400 medley relay take 6th (51.40 free split), and the 400 free relay finish 8th (51.98 split).
She clocked her fastest 100 free (51.48) at the Winter Junior West Time Trials. A month earlier, at the PC TERA Senior II meet (SCY), she won the 200 back in a personal-best 1:59.17. She also made finals in four more events, placing 4th in the 100 back (56.68), 6th in both the 100 free (52.15) and 200 free (1:52.17), and 13th in the 50 free (24.37).

Suppiger’s best times in the 200 free and 200 back would have ranked third on the team for the 2024–2025 season. The top 200 free time (1:48.78) belonged to graduate student Reagan Mathieson, while freshman Aubrey Hull led the 200 back with a 1:56.39.
Suppiger will join her Crow Canyon Sharks teammate Ellie Butler, along with Lane Gooding and Ava Allingham, as part of Vanderbilt’s 2025 recruiting class. Butler also has a solid 200 free time (1:49.28), but she is especially strong in butterfly, with times of 53.63 in the 100 and 1:58.52 in the 200.
