For an April 11 article, local Tennessee news station WJHL-TV spoke with several teachers from Swift's days as a high schooler before her music career took off. The "Shake It Off" singer moved to the school district from Pennsylvania in 2004 to try and make it big.
“I said, ‘What brings you all to Hendersonville?’” Paul Decker, a former principal of Hendersonville High School, told the outlet. “The mom says, ‘Well, we’re going to try to get Taylor in the music business.’”
Obviously, for Swift it truly did. She has snagged 14 Grammy Awards, 49 Billboard Music Awards and countless other accolades. Her wildly popular Eras Tour also smashed records left and right.
During a school talent show, Swift performed her hit track "Our Song" for the first time—and Rogers lauded her professionalism when the sound system suddenly broke.
Additionally, Swift's former high school teachers noted that she maintained a "glowing GPA," per WJHL-TV.
