On Tuesday, April 8, the 40-year-old royal arrived at a London court to challenge the decision made by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) to downgrade his level of taxpayer-funded security when he's in England, according to CNN.
The decrease in protection afforded to the Duke of Sussex came after Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down as working members of the royal family in 2020. (Despite giving up his duties, Harry is still a member of the royal family and fifth in line to the throne.)

At Tuesday's hearings, barristers for the Duke of Sussex claimed that Harry had been “singled out for different unjustified and inferior treatment” by RAVEC.
“I cannot put my wife in danger like that and, given my experiences in life, I am reluctant to unnecessarily put myself in harm’s way too,” he said in the statement.
The royal won a “monumental victory” in January when he settled with Rupert Murdoch's New Group Newspapers (NGN) after claiming that private investigators and journalists and private investigators working for the company's publications had targeted him and his family.
