Hometown Heroes: Owen Duffy and Grant Pierce ...Middle East

This week’s Hometown Heroes, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, are Owen Duffy and Grant Pierce.

Duffy and Pierce are members of the UNC men’s lacrosse team and they were just named teammates of the year by the nonprofit Team Impact. Team Impact matches college teams children with disabilities and serious illnesses. They matched the UNC men’s lacrosse team with a child named Noah. The entire team dove into it and Noah has become an integral part of the team. But it’s Duffy and Pierce that really stood out from the crowd. Their bond with Noah has become more like that of family than friends, developing a friendship with Noah’s sister and parents.
