A baffling game. Nottingham Forest could easily have been three or four goals down after 25 minutes and then worked their way back into the contest. By the full-time whistle, Nuno Espirito Santo will have been cursing both the final pass and finishing of his side because they could very easily have taken a point.
The better plan, in hindsight, would have been to stick with the back four, moving Neco Williams to right-back and bringing in Harry Toffolo (who appears completely out of favour) on the left. That would have left Morato in reserve and allowed Nico Dominguez – who was forced to fill in as a right wing-back – to come into central midfield where Forest struggled in the first quarter of the match.
Forest have now lost four of their last five league away games, having been brilliant on the road through the winter. And Anthony Elanga went off at half-time, potentially joining Ola Aina, Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi on the sidelines. This is not the time for players to start dropping like flies.
