WestJet aligns carry-on size with industry standards

WestJet Airlines has announced an adjustment to its carry-on baggage size, effective May 6, 2025. The new dimensions will be set at 22" x 14" x 9", including wheels and handles, which mirrors the commonly accepted specifications among North American airlines . This change marks a notable shift from WestJet's previous guidelines by increasing the height allowance while slightly reducing the width. WestJet said it will begin delivering new baggage sizing devices to all of its airports on March 13, giving travelers time to adjust their luggage if needed. The change also includes all Sunwing aircraft that are set to join the WestJet fleet in the spring.
