“Looting is an issue, the number of arrests is continuously growing,” Captain Mike Lorenz of the Los Angeles Police Department told a community meeting in the Palisades yesterday evening.
It comes as the death toll from California’s devastating wildfires has risen to 16.

On Sunday morning, the Palisades Fire, which has burned over 23,000 acres, was still 11 per cent contained – the same as Saturday morning, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire)
Nearly 35,000 homes and businesses in Los Angeles were without electricity on Sunday morning, according to Poweroutage.us, a website which monitors outages.
