I didn’t mention him in my postgame notes because of the stellar effort in front of him, but Arvid Söderblom was magnificent last night. He stopped 29 of 30 and there were a few moments where the wheels could have fallen off and he made a big save to keep his team in the lead. The Rangers were as desperate for a win as the Blackhawks — and they expect to be playing in the postseason. They threw all they could at Söderblom and he was fantastic. It’s his net now with both of the veterans on the roster on IR, and this was a great beginning of the next step in his career. Full marks to him for a terrific effort last night. Congrats to Anders Sorensen for his first win as interim head coach
