FA Cup finalists Crystal Palace and Manchester City are back in Premier League action on Tuesday and neither may find things going their way, against Wolves or Bournemouth respectively.

There is also a big game in the Finnish Veikkausliiga as 33-time champions HJK Helsinki try to continue their turnaround after a dismal start when they host third-placed SJK.

Tuesday football tips

Bet of the Day – HJK Helsinki to win and over 1.5 goals @ 19/20

HJK Helsinki’s hopes of regaining their dominance of Finland’s Veikkausliiga have been hit by a poor start to the season leading to turmoil off the pitch, but they have seemingly turned a corner and can continue their upward trajectory with a win on Tuesday.

HJK began the campaign with three straight defeats to surrender the early initiative, but have won three of their next four – which includes a combined 7-2 aggregate success in their two home games – while drawing the other.

In complete contrast, SJK opened up with three straight wins but have quickly hit the buffers, picking up just two points from the next 12 available and their struggles look likely to continue.

Although SJK beat HJK 1-0 with home advantage in the second game of the season, the teams are trending in the opposite directions and the hosts can gain swift revenge.

Interim boss Miika Nuutinen has found an attacking groove with HJK with 11 goals scored in their four-game unbeaten run and with SJK’s last four games yielding 14 in total, the hosts can claim a win in a game with more than one goal.

Special of the day – Man CIty v Bournemouth – Draw/Bournemouth double chance and under 2.5 goals @ 7/2

It is perhaps difficult to feel sympathy for Manchester City given their recent dominance, but they were a little unlucky to have lost the FA Cup final after dominating the possession and shot count, while Dean Henderson could easily have been given a red card on another day.

Still, it was the second game on the bounce in which the Citizens failed to score having been held to a goalless draw by bottom-of-the-table Southampton previously, while they only edged Wolves 1-0 before that.

On league evidence, the Cherries are better than all three of those sides, have had the benefit of rest and have already beaten City this season.

With the draw also not being the worst result for City as a point would take them back above Aston Villa and Chelsea, taking Bournemouth – who won at Arsenal on their last away trip – on the double chance in a low-scorer looks well worth considering.

Longshot of the Day – Crystal Palace vs Wolves – Wolves to win to nil and Will Hughes to be shown a card @ 21/1

There is likely to be a party atmosphere at Selhurst Park on Tuesday night for the final home game of the season for a history-making Crystal Palace side after they landed their first-ever major trophy with an upset victory in the FA Cup final.

However, Wolves look capable of playing the role of party poopers, with the Eagles having had to work extremely hard to see off City at Wembley and Vitor Pereira’s men can pounce.

Oliver Glasner is expected to make changes to give his Wembley heroes a rest with Will Hughes a prime candidate to come into midfield, and the combative schemer can add to his team-leading tally of 11 yellow cards in the Premier League.

Wolves have won more games on the road in the top-flight than Palace have done at home this season and after recording three wins to nil in their recent six-game winning run, Pereira’s fresher squad can bounce back  from successive defeats with a win over an understrength home side that may not have their full focus on the outcome.
