Mendocino County DA: Willits man pleads guilty in late wife’s death ...Middle East

A Willits man recently pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the death of his wife early last year, the Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office reported. According to DA David Eyster, Tavion Jamel James Johnson, 23, withdrew a not-guilty plea to killing Elenah Louise Elston, who was 49 when she died in March of 2020. Johnson, her husband, also reportedly “entered a guilty plea in Mendocino County Superior Court to a separate felony charge of inflicting traumatic injuries on a domestic partner because of a prior conviction in 2019 of misdemeanor domestic battery against the victim.” According to the DA’s office, “in 2019, Johnson was ordered to have no contact with Ms. Elston
