The outpouring of outrage was predictable, yet no less warranted for its predictability. I refer to Ohio U.S. Senate candidate J.D. Vance’s pronouncement to Fox News’s Tucker Carlson that our country is run by “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable...and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too.” To this, Vance added, “These people recognize that they’re unhappy. They live in one-bedroom apartments in New York City.” As a supposedly miserable childless (by choice) Democrat originally from the Bronx, I for one would be thrilled to have a one-bedroom apartment in New York City.
