Murphys, CA…On June 30th, 2021 at about 4:15 PM deputies were dispatched to the Murphy’s Park for a report of a male subject harassing a group of children ranging in age from 10-12 years old. Upon arrival, deputies initiated an investigation that consisted of interviewing the victim and several witnesses. Deputies learned a male suspect walked up to a group of children, produced a knife from his pocket, and demanded money. The children denied having any money and walked away from the suspect. The victim notified their parents who subsequently activated 911.
