Athlétisme: la Kényane Ruth Chepngetich pulvérise le record du monde du semi-marathon

Championne du monde du marathon en 2019, Ruth Chepngetich a frappé un nouveau grand coup sur la scène des courses de fond ce dimanche 4 avril. La Kényane a remporté le semi-marathon d'Istanbul en pulvérisant au passage le précédent record du monde, établi en février 2020 par l'Éthiopienne Ababel Yeshaneh. Avec un temps de 1 heure 4 minutes et 2 secondes, Chepngetich a amélioré le record du monde de quasiment 30 secondes sur la distance (21,097 kilomètres). « Aujourd'hui, tout était parfait, l'organisation, le rythme, et bien sûr mon corps », a commenté Ruth Chepngetich sur les réseaux sociaux, comblée de bonheur.
