New York City is known as the epicenter of business, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Almost overnight, our economy went into free-fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While there have been some bright spots, the pandemic has revealed just how fragile our local economy can be. In Brooklyn, small businesses, local restaurants, and mom-and-pop shops have been hammered by the pandemic — forcing employee layoffs and closures, and leaving only bills, rent, and accumulated debt.
