Bring back snow days: One teacher’s plea ...Middle East

It breaks my heart to think that amongst everything else we are taking away from children this year, we’re removing the greatest winter pastime: the snow day. With a pandemic amongst us and a cocoon of indoor play and remote learning, it is devastating to think that the wonders of sliding around in a powder of snow are now discouraged to make way for online learning. Perhaps we need to rethink that decision. Wouldn’t a child benefit more from the rare natural phenomenon of being in the snow, making snow angels, sliding down slopes — even if just for one day?
