UPD Chief: Sergeant charged with burglary, sexual battery has been fired

Ukiah Police Chief Justin Wyatt announced Friday that a sergeant accused of breaking into a woman’s hotel room and forcing her to perform sexual acts has been fired. “Today, the internal investigation has been concluded, and Kevin Murray is no longer employed with the Ukiah Police Department,” Wyatt said in a video posted to Facebook Jan. 29, explaining that his department “first learned of this potential misconduct in late November, and we reacted right away, (placing) Murray on leave and reaching out to the District Attorney to ask for a criminal investigation.” That investigation concluded this month with Mendocino County District Attorney David Eyster charging Kevin P.
