India National Cricket Team premier pacer Mohammed Siraj welcomed the England National Cricket Team tailender Shoaib Bashir to the middle with a brutal bouncer.
Mohammed Siraj, then, rattled the stumps of Shoaib Bashir on Day 3 of the second Test match between India and England at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Bumrah was rested for the second Test against the England National Cricket Team, and the responsibility fell on Mohammed Siraj to lead the Indian pace attack.
Siraj blew hot and cold in the Test series opener at Headingley in Leeds and wasn't consistent with his lines and lengths. He returned with figures of 2/122 & 0/51 in the Leeds Test, but significantly improved his performance in the Birmingham Test.
Stats show that Mohammed Siraj takes his game to the next level in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah in the playing XI, and that trend continued in the ongoing match.
Siraj was breathing fire with the ball on a surface that offered nothing to the bowlers. He dismissed Zak Crawley on Day 2 to help India reduce England to 25/3.
Then on Day 3, Siraj started off exceptionally well by dismissing Joe Root and Ben Stokes on back-to-back deliveries. Although he was troubled by Jamie Smith and Harry Brook, he quickly bounced back after the dismissal of Brook and cleaned up the tail to bag a sensational 6-wicket haul. He finished with the figures of 19.3-3-70-6 and had an economy of 3.58.

Talking about the Mohammed Siraj-Shoaib Bashir incident, it took place during the 90th over of the innings. On the first ball of the over, Siraj dismissed Josh Tongue to bring in Shoaib Bashir in the middle.
Siraj welcomed Shoaib Bashir with a brutal bouncer that hit the young spinner directly on the helmet. The Indian pacer quickly checked on the tailender, who received some treatment from the physio as the drinks were called.
Just after the drinks break, Siraj bowled a good length delivery to Shoaib Bashir outside off-stump that nipped back in to rattle the stumps of the tailender, who offered no shot, and England were bundled for 407.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Mark Butcher had provided an update on the conditions on offer ahead of Day 3 and said:
"It is slightly cooler with a breeze from the west but the surface hasn't changed a great deal. There is a bit of linear cracking starting to appear down the middle but I don't think that will have much of an impact.
"There is a patch of rough for the spinners but it is very minimal and not particularly inviting for the bowler. It is a little on the full side. England's batters should look at Gill's innings - play tight and then make plenty of runs. It is a good deck and should be a good day."
