EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports taken from the Greeley Police Department’s daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column because of space limitations.
June 11
6:15 a.m.: A caller at a hotel in the 2400 block of 29th Street reported he paid a $150 deposit and the hotel couldn’t find it when he went to check out.
9:00 a.m.: A caller at 4th Street and 25th Avenue reported a very large turtle crossing the street. The caller moved it out of the road but was concerned because it looked like someone’s pet.
6:30 p.m.: A caller at a bar in the 1000 block of 28th Avenue reported a man came in very drunk and was peeing on cars in the parking lot.
9:00 p.m.: A caller at a clothing store in the 4700 block of 29th Street reported a known thief was in the store. The caller said she had not stolen anything yet, but she had a big purse.
9:45 p.m.: A caller at an unknown address reported two kids were planning on robbing a car the day following. The caller refused to give any additional details.
June 12
8:30 a.m.: A caller in the 2000 block of 65th Avenue reported his neighbors have a “dog breeding factory.”
2:30 p.m.: A caller in the 4900 block of 30th Street reported a scam call from someone pretending to be with Apple. The scammer asked him to get out $7,500 and deposit it into another bank account.
4:00 p.m.: A caller in the 300 block of 8th Avenue reported a man was lighting a tree on fire.
8:00 p.m.: A caller in the 6600 block of 29th Street reported a flock of peacocks banded together. The caller said the animals appeared to be someone’s pets.
10:30 p.m.: A 12-year-old caller at an unknown address tried to get his father’s ex-wife deported.
June 13
9:15 a.m.: A landscape worker from 5th Avenue reported that a resident threatened him with a pistol and asked him not to cut the grass.
12:15 p.m.: A caller in the 400 block of 42nd Avenue reported a possible rabid squirrel who was running around in circles, jumping around and acting aggressive.
3:15 p.m.: A caller in the 1900 block of 61st Avenue reported a 15-year-old boy offered her daughter alcohol.
June 14
8:00 a.m.: A caller at an auto parts store in the 2200 block of 9th Street reported people using the store’s parking lot as a bathroom.
9:15 a.m.: A caller in the 2000 block of 4th Avenue reported two kittens that had been stuck up a tree for the past three days.
10:00 a.m.: A caller in the 1800 block of 30th Street reported he bought a car from someone who was refusing to give him the title.
