DENVER (KDVR) — Interstate 70 is closed in both directions just before the Eisenhower Tunnel after a vehicle caught fire on Thursday afternoon.
Just before 1:30 p.m., COtrip said the westbound roadway was closed 2 miles before the eastern entrance of the tunnel for a vehicle fire. The fire appears to be in the middle of the roadway, with heavy smoke around it.
The Clear Creek Sheriff's Office says the closure in both directions is due to a multi-vehicle crash, according to preliminary info.
At this time, it's unclear what the cause of the fire is and if there are any injuries.
