Interstate 70 was closed in both directions between Exit 205 at Dillon and Silverthorne and Exit 216 at Loveland Pass due to a multi-vehicle crash that resulted in a fire and a possible fatality, authorities said.

The sheriff’s office and the Colorado State Patrol said to expect an extended closure of the interstate.
CSP’s Golden bureau said the crash had resulted in a possible fatality, but no further information was provided on the victims impacted.
CSP said alternate routes include I-70 to U.S. 40 at Berthoud Pass, or U.S. 285 to Colorado 9.
