ESPN slammed for major blunder over Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever coverage – ‘awful’ mistake

ESPN made a major blunder ahead of the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The network’s YouTube channel shared a stark prediction ahead of the game that ultimately turned untrue.

    The video was labeled with the caption “FULL REACTION: Lynx dominate Fever to win Commissioner’s Cup.”

    Of course, this never happened as it was the Fever that did the dominating.

    Indiana took down the Lynx 74-59 without the help of Caitlin Clark.

    Clark is still out with a groin injury and didn’t play a single minute in the contest.

    ESPN’s caption was screenshotted and posted on social media by Big3 reported Rachel DeMita, who couldn’t believe it wasn’t deleted.

    “What tf are you doing ESPN ” she wrote.

    Fans joined in on the outrage and joined in on the criticism of ESPN.

    “ESPN has been going downhill for a long time. Such a joke,” one fan said.

    “ESPN has hit rock bottom!” another fan said.

    “Yikes not a good look. Fever must’ve caught this ahead of time,” a third fan said.

    “Someone published their drafts too early,” a fourth fan said.

    “Looks like they embarrassed themselves!” a fifth fan said.

    The Lynx got out to an early lead in the game, going up 20-12 after the first quarter.

    However, they were outscored 20-7 in the second quarter, going down 32-27 at half.

    The Fever would never give the lead back and held it the rest of the game.

    Natasha Howard led the Fever in scoring with 16 points while adding 12 rebounds and four assists.

    Sophie Cunningham had 13 points off the bench with seven rebounds and one assist.

    Aliyah Boston also had a great game with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.
