90s Teen Heartthrob Is Virtually Unrecognizable in Reunion Pic with OG Crew

As just about any Gen Xer can recall, Edward Furlong skyrocketed to instant fame after the release of Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 1991, but the onetime teen heartthrob has kept a low profile in recent years. So fans were understandably shocked — and thrilled — when the 47-year-old was spotted in a recent photo alongside three other '90s movie stars.

Actor Keith Coogan, 55 (Adventures in Babysitting, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead), took to Instagram today to share a pic of himself posing with Furlong, 47, Thomas Ian Nicholas, 44 (American Pie) and Shaun Weiss, 45 (The Mighty Ducks). While it's not clear when or where the pic was snapped, the pals appeared to be catching up at a fan convention, with all four actors grinning for the camera.

Fans in the comments couldn't get over seeing the former teen stars together in one place, all these decades later.

"The 4 Horseman of growing up watching VHS ?," one person wrote, with a second agreeing, "couldn't say it any better than that! Legends of our formative years."

"Dang!! The OG crew!! Love this!!" gushed someone else, as another added, "Rookie of the Year and Adventures Im Babysitting are 2 of my favs! I still quote both on a daily basis. It wouldve been amazing to be there! ❤️"

During a 2019 interview with Forbes, Furlong opened up about the fraught aftermath of Terminator 2.

“It was literally overnight success. It was insane," he recalled, adding, "I’m still coming to grips with the shock and awe of it all…I got into things that weren’t good for me — for a long time. I was a kid who had a lot happening all at once. And I wasn’t really able to process it. Early career, I remember it was crazy to me. It’s insane for a little kid to get that much power."

Furlong went on to say that he's learned to appreciate his fame in the years since, calling the fact that he can "sit on my ass and sign autographs and let people tell me how awesome I am" a "blessing."

"I’m lucky. I’m so glad that I’ve had a couple of things that have stayed relevant enough that I can still come and somewhat make a living doing things like this. That’s a rare thing. I don’t take it for granted,” he said.
