Ree Drummond’s Ranch Life Goes Public, But One Beloved Family Member Is Missing

The Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond takes a backseat to her family in their new YouTube series, Drummond Ranch. The beloved Food Network star first announced the project in June 2025, saying she wanted to showcase the legacy work that has shaped the clan for more than a century. But fans were quick to notice one beloved family member is missing from the series.

The first episode of Drummond Ranch has officially premiered on YouTube, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the hard work and dedication that keep the operation going. It highlights the hands-on efforts of the Drummond family, along with their friends and coworkers, who all play a vital role in its daily operations.

Featured in the first installment were Ladd Drummond, his sons Bryce and Todd Drummond, and daughter Paige Drummond Anderson. However, one family member is noticeably absent from episode one.

Eldest Drummond offspring, Alex Drummond Scott, was not featured in the seven-minute video clip. Alex lives in Texas with her husband, Mauricio Scott, and their daughter, Sofia.

Also not featured in this initial clip was Ree and Ladd's foster son, Jamar. He joined the family in 2020.

In the video, Paige shared her ranching experience, calling it "pretty special. Me and my siblings, we all come from a long line of ranchers."

"My grandpa [Chuck Drummond] taught my dad everything he needed to know, and now my dad is teaching all of us everything we need to know. It's my family, and the cowboys that are here are also family."

Ree's husband Ladd, admits ranchers work hard and play hard. Gentle ribbing is a way of life on the ranch, saying everyone gives each other a "hard time," but it's all in good fun.

He explained that the family lives in Osage County, Oklahoma, located on the edge of the Flint Hills, a stretch of tallgrass prairie that begins in Oklahoma and extends through Kansas. He described it as some of the "best grassland grazing country in the United States." This rich grazing land is essential to ranching, providing cattle with the food they need to thrive.

The family has four locations where they work cattle. Their main ranch is in Pawhuska, with another working ranch in Shidler, OK. They also have a place in Kansas called The Spur Ranch and other areas in the state where they raise and tend to their cattle.

In a brief clip, Ree shared her thoughts on her family's difficult work. She joked that despite her public persona, she isn't the "glue that holds this ranch together in terms of being hands-on work in the pens."

"I take pictures and video and write stories about the kids growing up on the ranch. That's what I miss, being there when they were little. Over time, we all got busy. I got busy with my show and writing cookbooks. The boys got busy with football, and the girls had volleyball and soccer."

However, Ladd doesn't discount the importance of Ree's role in the family. "She shows up, she's got a smile. I always tell my kids, 'you've got to be more like her and less like me.' You never see her mad or with a bad attitude. That makes life more enjoyable."

New episodes of Drummond Ranch air on YouTube. The Pioneer Woman airs on Food Network.
