Former Alabama standout Collin Sexton is on the move.
According to ESPN insider Shams Charania, the Utah Jazz are trading Sexton and a 2031 second-round draft pick to the Charlotte Hornets for Jusuf Nurkic.

— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) June 29, 2025The 26-year-old Sexton played for Alabama basketball in the 2017-18 season, earning recognition as the SEC Freshman of the Year. He was then a first-round NBA Draft pick in 2018, selected No. 8 overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Sexton spent his first 4 professional seasons with the Cavaliers. He saw the most playing time in his rookie season, appearing in all 82 regular-season game with 72 starts. In the 2020-21 season, Sexton averaged a career-high 24.3 points per game.
Utah acquired Sexton via a sign-and-trade deal in September 2022. In his first season with the Jazz, Sexton shot a career-best 50.6% from the field over 48 appearances (15 starts). This past season, Sexton posted his best 3-point shooting percentage, a 40.6% mark from beyond the arc in 63 games (61 starts).
For his career, Sexton has played in 407 regular-season games, making 335 starts. He averaged 18.8 points on 47% field-goal shooting over 29.9 minutes per game.
