Flamengo will hope to put the money gained from their Club World Cup campaign to funding their new state-of-the-art stadium.
The Brazilian side have proved the surprise package of the tournament, stunning Chelsea 3-1 to finish top of Group D.
Filipe Luís’ men are the main South American hopefuls in the US, but face a tough ask against Bayern Munich in Sunday’s last-16 clash.
Another victory over a European powerhouse would put Flamengo within three games of claiming the £100million prize money.
Such a jackpot would prove most opportune, following the rising costs of its new stadium project.
Flamengo unveiled their ambitious plans to leave the legendary Maracana Stadium for a lavish new venue in Rio de Janeiro last year.
‘Mengão’ has mainly called the Maracanã their home since it opened in 1950, but the club do not own the ground outright.
Flamengo currently shares the venue with neighbours Fluminense, while commercial opportunities remain limited.
Plans to expand the club’s former facility, Estádio da Gávea, or build a stadium on Avenida Brasil, were mooted but came to nothing.
Last July, Flamengo were the only bidder on a plot of land at the Gasometro area, with their new stadium to have a capacity of 78,000.
According to Coliseum, designers, Arena Events+Venues, have presented their plans to the club’s board of directors and members.
It is designed to operate 365 days a year, with fans and tourists afforded unique experiences outside football, including the Flamengo Museum, a Megastore, and a unique rooftop walkway with breathtaking views of the ‘Marvelous City.’

CEO Carlos de la Corte said: “This project represents the fusion of tradition and innovation, uniting the passion for sports with a design that reflects the greatness of Flamengo and its fans, as well as the culture of Rio de Janeiro.
“Our goal is to create a space that transcends sports, offering a lasting legacy for the country.”
The stadium has a tentative completion date of November 15, 2029, which coincides with the club’s 127th anniversary.
However, ‘The Rio Times’ has reported that Flamengo have seen total costs skyrocket following a preliminary study of the site.
It has now revised the estimated cost of its new stadium to R$3 billion ($500m-£363m), up from an initial R$1.9bn ($317m-£230m).

To help fund the total costs, Flamengo anticipates recouping R$1.5 billion ($250m-£181m) from naming rights over 20 years.
In addition to their Club World Cup revenue, the Brazilians also plan to claim additional revenue from premium seating.
Meanwhile, Flamengo’s fierce rivals Fluminense will remain tenants of the Maracanã, which also plays host to Brazil’s national team.
The historic 73,139-venue has hosted two World Cup finals in 1950 and 2014, and both ceremonies of the 2016 Summer Olympics.
