Jack Draper
Age: 23 Ranking: 4 Career earnings: £5.92mThe best home hope, Draper won the “fifth slam” earlier this year and has got shredded recently. “Are you getting ready for UFC?” Alexander Bublik joked at the French Open. Draper could meet Bublik, the recent Halle champion, in the third round, and Novak Djokovic in the quarters, meaning he’ll have to do it the hard way. He is yet to progress beyond the second round.

Age: 23 Ranking: 51 Career earnings: £764kA Texas Christian University (TCU) graduate, Fearnley beat both Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner at junior level. He is enjoying his best season to date, already reaching the third round at the Australian Open and French Open. The same again would make for his best Wimbledon run. His first-round match against 18-year-old rising star Joao Fonseca could be fun.
Cameron Norrie
Age: 29 Ranking: 61 Career earnings: £8.99mBorn in Johannesburg, Norrie then grew up in New Zealand before attending TCU in the US. He switched allegiance to Great Britain aged 17 – his father is Glaswegian and his mother from Cardiff – and he was won five ATP titles and reached the semi-finals here in 2022.
Billy Harris
Age: 30 Ranking: 142 Career earnings: £656kNottingham-born Harris only made his Wimbledon debut aged 29 last year. From a sporting family, with one brother Joe a top GB javelin thrower and another brother Tom a golfer who was on the under-21 England team.
Dan Evans
Age: 35 Ranking: 170 Career earnings: £6.49mThe veteran of the group at 35, Birmingham-born Evans is playing his 10th Wimbledon. A member of the 2015 Davis Cup-winning team, the Aston Villa fan and keen golfer is hoping to avoid a fourth-straight exit in the first round. He faces fellow Brit wild card Jay Clarke with the victor likely facing a bloke by the name of Djokovic.

Age: 26 Ranking: 199 Career earnings: £700kBack for a fifth Wimbledon after three years away, Clarke has won just once here in the singles (2019) and recently withdrew from a lawsuit where the Djokovic-founded Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA) are taking legal action against the sport’s governing bodies over how the game is run. That aside, his first-round meeting with Evans is worth a watch.

Age: 23 Ranking: 236 Career earnings: £101kBorn in Hull, 6ft 6ins Monday – or “JoMo” – is making his grand slam singles debut this year. The British No 8 is another player to have gone stateside on the US college circuit, majoring in political science at the University of Tennessee.

Henry Searle

Oliver Tarvet
Age: 21 Ranking: 719 Career earnings: £11kThe only Brit to come through qualifying, Tarvet is another on the US college trail, but because he’s still studying at the University of San Diego and counts as an amateur, he can only collect a small portion of the £66,000 for reaching the first round. “I can claim up to $10k so I might be flying my coach on a private jet at home!” he said.

In the spotlight since winning the US Open in 2021, Raducanu is a tabloid favourite but let’s just talk tennis: the British No 1 again, she has twice reached the fourth round here (2021, 2024) but faces a tricky draw this time around.
