Love Island USA’s Hannah Reveals Islanders Code Word for Talking About Sex

The Love Island USA season 7 Islanders haven’t been shy about getting intimate in their shared bedroom.

“We had a code name for intimacy,” star Hannah Fields told Us Weekly in an exclusive interview. “We would say, ‘How was your journey? What was this journey like?’ Huda [started it when she] said something like, ‘Oh, I had a journey. My journey went all the way.’”

Fans caught Hannah, 23, on her own “journey” with Pepe Garcia earlier this season.

“We had not slept in, like, 24 hours. It had been three hours after we went to bed,” she told Us of the now-viral clip. “You kind of forget that you’re on camera. I literally always forgot that I was being recorded and it would dawn on me because I’d just see a camera and I’d be like, ‘Oh s*** I’m being recorded.’ I really didn’t think I remembered until the next day. I was like, ‘Just don’t talk about it. Nobody’s gonna know. Nobody’s gonna know what happened.’ I sit in the bathroom, like, ‘Do you think they caught that? … No.’ So when I watched the episode, I’m like, ‘Oh, I couldn’t have been less discreet.'”

Overall, Hannah said she tried not to think about what America was seeing — or thinking.

“Everyone has thought about it a little bit. I tried to take that out of my mind completely,” she said of being watched by viewers. “You don’t know if people are voting out of spite or if people are voting because they actually like you. When I was in the bottom three, I tried really not to think about it as, ‘Oh America didn’t like me.’ Everybody standing up there is either an OG or Cierra, who was the first bombshell and basically an OG. I don’t wanna think that America hates me. Nobody wants to think that. But I think there were a couple of times that people had said, ‘Oh America must not like me.’ When I got coupled up with Pepe, the girls would tell me like, ‘Well America must’ve seen something that you didn’t.’ America was really personified in the villa.”

During her time on the show, Hannah had connections with both Pepe and Charlie Georgio. While fans shipped Hannah and Charlie, she said she had stronger feelings for Pepe.

“Watching the show back, I’m not surprised because it really makes us look like we are the dream,” Hannah told Us of her and Charlie’s relationship. “I mean, we had a great time, and at the time, we had the strongest connection. But we also had a fair amount of downs. Maybe it wasn’t pictured as much, so I could definitely see why people loved it. And my emotional [reaction to the] dumping of Charlie. It was the worst day ever.”

Since her exit, Hannah has “had pretty mixed emotions for a while.”

“But leaving the villa, I was so devastated because I think me and Pepe had a really, really good connection. I’ve just been trying to stay really open-minded because I don’t know what’s gonna happen. He could build another connection,” she said. “You can see with me, firsthand, that it really can change overnight. I would love to continue building my connection with Pepe [outside the villa], but I’m not gonna force anything. I also do wanna rekindle at least a friendship with Charlie because I think we had a really good bond and I don’t think anyone in my life has ever made me laugh that hard.”

Currently, Pepe is in a couple with bombshell Gracyn Blackmore — who bears a striking resemblance to Hannah.

“He told me I was not his physical type initially. But [on the show], he was saying, ‘Oh, she has these long legs’ — and I have the longest legs in the world — he said, ‘She has these long legs, blonde hair, blue eyes, tiny nose or whatever.’ And I was like, ‘That’s me!’ I don’t know, I think it just worked out that way. I don’t think it was intentional that he was trying to couple up with her.”

She added that she will be watching to see Pepe’s next moves. “I feel like I’ve been only trying to watch those parts ’cause I wanna see! But there [haven’t been many yet].”

New episodes of Love Island USA drop every day — but Wednesday — on Peacock at 9 p.m. ET.
