And while detectives have identified everyone involved in the fatal shooting, no arrests have been made and no charges have been filed, the Fremont Police Department said in an update on the case.

The shooting happened just before 6:45 p.m. on June 20 in the 39000 block of Overacker Avenue. Officers arrived to find two victims, one of whom was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the update. He was identified as Anthony “Ant” Santos.

The other victim was treated at an area trauma center and later released.

According to the update, an investigation determined two groups were involved in a dispute over parking, and “weapons were introduced” an hour before shots were fired.

Authorities said the surviving victim purportedly yelled a taunt that is offensive to Sureños gang members at the suspects, who were wearing blue and making gang signs.

After analyzing the facts and evidence gathered during the investigation, including video footage, the police department presented the case to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.

“At this time, prosecutors have declined to file charges in this case. No arrests have been made,” police said in the update, adding that “future updates may be provided if there are any changes to the investigation or if any new information becomes available.”

Anyone with information related to the case can contact the police department’s investigations unit at 510-790-6900.
